An update to yesterday’s post about community organizing in Gowanus — today, Gowanus Lounge reports that , “a new South Brooklyn neighborhood coalition is in the works in Carroll Gardens, Gowanus and Red Hook.”  According to the article, the group’s goals are: “”to form a coalition to better have a say in what type of zoning and building our community will get from City Planning,” and to, “to unite as ‘one’ neighborhood,” in order to, “have some influence in the 2009 municipal elections.”

We’ll be watching this for more information about how those interested can get involved…
