Gothamist is reporting today that the bill to extend term limits that was expected to be introduced to City Council today has been postponed, pending further discussion.  The article notes that once the bill is introduced in committee, there will be a public hearing, followed by a possible vote.

Yesterday, Brooklyn Council Members Leitia James and Bill de Blasio held a press conference with representatives of Brooklyn’s African-American congregations, in which they called for public participation in the decision-making about term limits.  The two council members plan to introduce a bill that would set up a charter revision commission to look into term limits and ultimately require a referrendum.

Meanwhile, City Room tackles reader Q&A on the term limits issue.
