Wikipedia defines disintermediation as the removal of intermediaries in a supply chain: “cutting out the middleman”. Since I started using a blog reader (sometimes referred to as news aggregator) I’ve been cutting out a lot of middlemen.

The magic of blogs only arrives with a blog reader. Now, with one click, I can see which of my favorites have posted to their blogs recently, and with a second click I’m reading. It has saved me huge amounts of navigating time.

In summary, without a blog reader, blogs are just websites. Start using a blog reader. In terms of difficulty, I’d put setting up a blog reader on par with learning to use a wiki – 5 minutes of phone support.
