Although this panel isn’t until November, considering the turmoil in the financial markets today, it seems an appropriate day to remind you to mark your calendar:
Monday, November 10, 6-8pm at the Municipal Art Society: How Will New York’s Neighborhoods Recover?
While forclosure rates doubled in New York between 2004 and 2007, rates in some neighborhoods climbed even higher. What steps is Ne York City taking to ensure neighborhood revitalization stays on track? What is the role for planners and community-based organizations in preventing systematic disinvestment and displacement? This forum will focus on constructive practices and neighborhood-level resources for keeping homes out of the foreclosure process and stabilizing neighborhoods in a post-foreclosure New York.
Free. Reservations are strongly recommended due to limited capacity. Call 212-935-2075.
