Crain’s reports that a group of business owners from the “Iron Triangle” of Willets Point, Queens have filed a lawsuit in State Supreme Court challenging the City’s envrionmental review for its redevelopment project, which the City Council approved in September.

Crain’s writes, “The suit alleges the city’s environmental impact statement falls short of requirements under state law, especially regarding the project’s potential effects on local traffic. It also contends Deputy Mayor Robert Lieber’s office does not have the authority to play a lead role on the project. And it argues the city’s plans for the area are too vague to serve as a justification for the use of eminent domain.”
